When I Launch a game i get the "Can't load FileSystem_Steam.dll " error. How can I fix that?
This error occurs only if you're using WinXP without any Service Packs installed. You have to install SP1 or SP2! This will solve your problem to 95%. If not try these solutions:
- Rename Steam.dll to Steam.dll.off - Read Explanation of Steam (Click here) - Make sure you're logged as admin - Make sure you are running DirectX 9.0c [find out via Start - Run... - Type: "dxdiag" last entry, DirectX Version: 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)] with Microsoft.Net V.1.1 (not necessary for CS Source but for ATI grapic driver) and using the latest driver version of your Graphics Card.
- The problem could be overclocked Hardware, because this can cause trouble with standard drivers. - Make sure you aren't using any kind of MOD (ManiAdmin Plugin, Garrys MOD, WC3 MOD etc.) which is not official supported by this board? - If you are using an ASRock Motherboard, update your 4in1 Drivers as well
Custom maps don't work properly. Why do I have white and purple squares in the game?
You are missing some models and textures, because most custom maps use HL2 textures. Since not all models & textures are included in the release of CSS there isn't a instant fix for that, however you have these possibilites: - Download our maps & mappacks in which we included all required textures. - Download & Install all HL2 textures (Texture Fix) - Post a request, so we can upload your desired map including all textures. - Install CSS Over HL2
